You broke my heart

MAGA:

You broke my heart during the pandemic. I thought I had already seen the worst aspects of your movement, but I was so, so wrong. Instead of supporting the doctors and nurses at the front lines, you spewed hatred, including violent acts in hospitals and ERs. You spread conspiracy theories, refused to believe how many people died, and became radically anti-vaccination.

You didn’t have the decency to wear a mask when around vulnerable people, like the elderly, or cancer patients. You didn’t seem to grasp the idea that practically anyone you encountered in public could have a sick or elderly person at home. I remember thinking: if this affected babies and children like it does the elderly, would you act any different? Honestly, I don’t want to know the answer, because it’s too disturbing to think you would be just as callous about the lives of children as you were with the elderly and sick.

Some of you took this one step further and caused problems with public schools. People without kids in the schools, showing up to school board meetings during a really awful time, and just causing problems. Seriously…people without kids, or with kids in private school or homeschooled kids, disrupting local school board meetings just for funzies. You also threw super-spreader events and thought that was something to be proud of.

After the vaccines were rolled out, you loved to troll people online about how “vaxed” they are. You’re still doing it. Do you have any idea how science works? Do you have any sense of decency? Do you understand that your ignorant bullshit can kill other people? Be better.

Shaking my head
